2019 Morey-St Denis, Domaine des Lambrays, Burgundy

This village-level Morey is from two, roughly equal-sized parcels at the top of the slope; one is in Les Larrets, the other in En la Rue de Vergy. Yields were only 20 hl/ha due to the organic conversion of the vineyards, and the wine shows a pleasantly forward, plummy fruit on the nose, plenty of density and length. Aged in 30% new casks, as director Jacques Devauges notes, this is 'an energetic, tonic wine'. - Decanter
