Named after Dr Harold Olmo, who first identified the potential of vines in the remote Frankland River region, this fully mature wine is a blend of 52% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose shows dried blackberry and forest floor aromas, complemented by woodsmoke and a hint of marzipan. The palate is rich and smooth, with the Cabernet Franc adding spice and a firm grip of tannins on the finish. This Margaret River wine is miles away Eboth stylistically and quite literally Efrom the fruity reds of the Barossa.
